Culture in the triple border
The resorts around the Resiapass in Val Venosta in South Tyrol lies near the boundary at the triple border area, which indicates the border between South Tyrol and the canton of Grisons in Switzerland and the western part of the Austrian Land Tyrol, known as Oberes Gericht.Along the valley, the Romans built the Via Claudia Augusta, about 2000 years ago, the only road that crosses the Alps. It extends from Altinum in Venice, or rather Ostiglia on Po 'up to Donauwörth in Bavaria, through the Resiapass and the Fernpass. Today the road is a long (600 km) bike path.
Val Venosta offers a variety of traditions and cultural attractions in the background. The Resiapass is one of the most important Alpine passes from north to south since prehistoric times. Along the edge of the Resia Lake it extends one of the most modern and various tourist regions of the Alps.
